With a background in textile design and a lifelong passion for interiors, Cherylin Donnelly-Gomes is the creative force behind Timid Tyger. Her design journey began in 1996, when she formally trained in textile and pattern design, laying the foundation for an approach that is both artistic, precise and highly informed. Over the years, Cherylin has refined her practice across disciplines, from custom carpet design and colour matching to cabinetry, kitchen renovations, and interior decor.

Her aesthetic combines deep technical knowledge with a love for visual storytelling. Each project is handled with sensitivity, attention to detail and creativity − whether it’s a bespoke walk-in wardrobe, a carefully curated kitchen, or a fully managed residential or commercial renovation. Cherylin brings intuitive insight to every space, supported by hands-on project management experience and an impressive design portfolio spanning kitchens, built-in cupboards, vanities, bars, shopfitting and exhibition design.

Cherylin’s expertise is supported by formal qualifications in interior decorating and a focused knowledge of colour theory, fabric composition and design history. Known for being highly detail-oriented and passionate about tailoring each project to reflect the client’s unique vision, she is committed to creating refined, functional environments with heart.

With a passion for creating thoughtfully curated interiors, Dené Klapwijk is the visionary behind Umber Interiors. As the Founder & Lead Designer, Dené specialises in crafting bespoke, turn-key spaces that blend elegance, warmth, and functionality.
Her design style is modern luxury with a timeless feel, ensuring that every space she creates remains sophisticated and enduring. She is a cabinetry specialist with a focus on luxury kitchen design, seamlessly blending aesthetics with practicality. Her expertise in spatial planning, custom kitchens, and bespoke cabinetry allows her to design interiors that are both visually striking and highly functional.
To help clients visualise their spaces before execution, Dené utilises specialised design software to create detailed 3D renders, bringing concepts to life with precision and clarity.
